[00:00:01] I'm like, yeah I can record and I can go to work and then I'm like... So we skipped this last episode that was supposed to come out on the 5th because I was sick
[00:00:22] and I'm still not back 100% but then we were like nah we need to record anyway because we have family coming into town this weekend so we gotta record for the whichever day it is, the 11th? Yup, Monday. Monday. Monday. Monday is coming out right and you're like okay.
[00:00:43] So now we're... But then of course Ripley got sick because she's just like hanging out with all the wrong crowd and... You're good. So it'll be good. It'll be good. We got this. Go ahead. You can do the intro. Well hello, welcome back to Mindless Prattle.
[00:01:01] My name is Ripley, that's Jordon. We're here to talk to you about anything and everything you don't want to hear. I like that you have a different voice just for the intro and outro. It's pretty fun to me. Like you're announcing... Hello. Yeah it's my announcing voice.
[00:01:15] Announcing voice. Like did I ever tell you about the guy who I was in Africa with who had like a waitress voice or waiter voice or servant voice is what he called or something and I was like bro. Like that he uses to order with? Yeah.
[00:01:30] Yeah, I do that. Like he had a different voice that he used to order with and it's fine if you do. If you're like oh normally I'm really shy and like to order food I'll speak up. His voice was like he was a chill dude.
[00:01:43] He was fine friends with him and then we went out to like one restaurant with him and he ordered and we were like why are you so condescending to the waitress? And he's like what do you mean? And we were like you were just very condescending.
[00:01:56] Like she didn't know what catch up was for some reason. Like he was like it was a whole... He's like and then fries with the fries they're supposed to be catch ups. So you need to bring catch up and we were like... Damn. Yeah.
[00:02:07] And we were like why are you being so condescending into the waitress? Like she speaks English just fine. She knows what catch up is. It's Africa not like a mythical land where catch ups doesn't exist. We were like she knows what it is dude.
[00:02:18] Like you don't have to be like that and she's like patronizing or like condescending. He's like what do you mean? That's how I always order food. It's my like... It's my like... It's like my ordering voice or I'd like my waitress voice or something and I were
[00:02:32] like bro what? Like every time he's like yeah why? And I'm like because you sound like an asshole. Like you know under your food's getting spitted. I feel like your time in college was much more fun than mine. My time in college why?
[00:02:49] Yeah because like you have all these fun stories you tell about adventures you went on and all the things like the stories I have are just like oh this horrible thing happened. I don't know that that was related to college. I went to Africa with the army.
[00:03:00] Yeah but I thought it was when you were in school. It was during college. Like I was in college as well yes. But it's not directly related. I wanted to study abroad so badly. I can study abroad all day and they're pretty nice to look at. Study abroad?
[00:03:13] Well you I mean if you want to just study one that's fine. Like in another country? Not wherever they live it's you know... What's wrong? I really wanted to study in Ireland. Oh in Ireland yeah. It was like the most expensive program.
[00:03:27] I could have gone to a school in South America for cheaper than I was going to UNLV though. Yeah you could go to Mexico for cheaper things. Well UNLV is tuition for in-state students at the time was like five grand a semester
[00:03:37] so like that was pretty hard to be. Ugh I'm gonna quit my job. You gotta become a successful author. I'm gonna say in... Your book's really good but... You think so? No I'm lying straight to your face.
[00:03:54] There's just a lot of editing and I gotta figure out how to wrap it up. Wrap it up. I'm like 35% away through what you gave me. But I liked it. What'd you like about it? Can't tell the audience it's a surprise for them. Can't just reveal details.
[00:04:17] Well I mean like so I've said like I don't feel like I can write dialogue very well and things like that so I'm like I want to know what things I do well and what things I don't. Yeah that's why I did...
[00:04:27] I'm not just reading it I put notes in there. Only negative things but... All bad things, all bad things. All bad things so far. And the cover for it is beautiful so I literally just have to finish it. Yeah that is true.
[00:04:45] I feel like the format you sent it to me in I was like man these are some large pages. Yeah it's just from the program I'm writing it in and then I transfer it over.
[00:04:53] If you convert it to an actual like sized sheet that it'll be on I was like this is gonna be a lot more pages. Cause you sent me one and it was like 80 pages and I was like this seems really short for 80 pages
[00:05:04] and then I was reading through it and I'm like these are some big pages. Yeah on Word I think it comes out to over 100. But I am still writing it. Yeah but even in Word it's... Word is defaults to 8.5x11 but there's no 8.5x11 books.
[00:05:20] Well but there's also like in Word you can format it to look like a book. Like you can see a preview so... Right but doesn't that just usually turn it sideways cause they pulled in half for you?
[00:05:30] Yeah but you can set like the size settings in Word settings. So like you can say like it's this size of book or this size of paper and like it'll show you what it would look like. So you can format it.
[00:05:40] But I'm just saying so like I'm really thinking I'm probably gonna step down in like June or July even if I haven't published. Like you know make enough money to pay off all these last things. Make up a financial plan. Yeah and then start paying me back.
[00:05:54] And then publish. I think if I do that MFA program I think I get money back. Money back from what? Like from scholarships and student loans and stuff. Well yeah but I... Not student loans. Are you taking out more loans for the O&I?
[00:06:09] No no no I wouldn't need to because with the discounted tuition and what I saw from FAFSA is I'm eligible for so much like grants and aid and things like that. That... When you went through FAFSA did you put single or married? Single.
[00:06:24] But it said you had to do whatever you were doing at the time you submitted it. That's what you had to file. So even if you're getting married you have to file single and then you can go ahead and amend it after you get married.
[00:06:32] But it won't change it afterward? I don't think so. You applied for it now right? But you're not using it until afterward. You know what I mean? So if you change it it might change the amount. Yeah I mean it could.
[00:06:46] I doubt it because I count our income as like separate. I mean they don't care. As soon as you're married it won't like join the income. Well I guess on the next year's FAFSA... I think it's not gonna... Okay. What's that thing? It's a book people thing.
[00:07:07] The conflicts... Is that what it is? What's the term for it? There's like three of them. One's like the man versus man and then man versus nature. And then the third one. You know what I'm talking about? It's like person versus person. Person versus nature.
[00:07:25] Person versus like a problem I think. Like a mental or physical. Something you have to overcome. Yeah what was that called? I don't even know what it's called. You're the author. Is it like the types of conflict or something? I'm pretty sure.
[00:07:42] I don't know the official name for it. Anyway while you're looking that up here's why I bring it up. Oh there's a lot more than we've ever been told. Nah I only care about those three. There's person versus supernatural man versus self character versus technology
[00:07:56] person versus technology external chronic antagonistic person versus fate. Oh I don't care. Three I learned them in high school. That's all. There's no new ones. My teacher would not lie to me okay. No of course not. She... Anyway I'm going to give you a scenario.
[00:08:14] You tell me which one you think it is. Okay so you're sitting in the passenger seat of a car. Okay. Windows rolled down because you love your fruity robot juice. What? Your fruity robot juice. Yup you're vaping some fruity shit.
[00:08:33] Right and I can smell it from my car. Way over here right now. But you're sitting in your car. That's how I know it was fruity. Sitting in your car windows down. You've got some fruit. It's rolling out the vape into the into the world right? Okay.
[00:08:51] Then all of a sudden like you're like you're for real smoking you put your hand out the window like you don't want the ash to fall in like you're just holding a vape in two fingers out the window. Yeah. Not like it was like a stick.
[00:09:07] Like another one right? It looked like he someone was transitioning from smoking to going like that. He stuck his hand out the window because he didn't want the ash for I don't know. Just have it I would assume. But then because you have something that smells like fruit
[00:09:30] a bee comes over and lands on the vape right? And so the guy you're sitting there and you go oh there's a bee on the vape. So he shoes it off and it flies off a little bit. He takes a little puff puff blows it back out
[00:09:50] and puts his hand right back in the same spot. The bee comes back over, lands on him again he gets irritated. So now he starts rolling up the window to try and cut it off so he rolls it up like halfway and then he shoes it off
[00:10:06] and then he rolls it up a little bit more so now there's just like the child gap up top but he's still addicted so he vapes a little bit more and then the bee flies into the car because it's following the scent
[00:10:18] so then the window rolls all the way back down and he's shoeing this bee off and the bee's just so the bee just keeps following him back until finally he like almost like throws his arm out the window
[00:10:31] like he's trying to punch the invisible man next to him the bee flies off he I guess got enough addiction over with closes the window all the way but not before the bee flies back in so the bee was out again the bee goes back in
[00:10:49] so then I was like I swear I just saw that bee go back in that car wait this is something you witnessed? yeah I watched this happen the bee like the window closed thought I was just making this up
[00:11:01] I was like I don't know if you got this from the internet no way too much detail I watched this happen from my car the window goes all the way up and I was like I swear that bee flew in there
[00:11:13] at the last second I swear it flew there still out of red light by the way and it's one of the longest lights in town he's like I don't know 10 seconds later the window rolls back down and he throws he waves his hand out the window again
[00:11:34] the bee flies out and lands on the vape so now he's just got a vape whipping it around with a bee on it and the bee doesn't want to leave the vape but he's like I need my drugs and so he's finally just whips it
[00:11:51] he takes like one last puff and closes the window and then the lights turn green and he drove off I was like that was just like a problem that only you had because of you it was so funny to watch yeah definitely man versus self versus bee
[00:12:07] so I was like man he was versus nature he didn't know what to do that is funny it was so entertaining to watch I don't think I've seen anything funny like that I'm like trying to think it's mostly just been stress like stress in video games
[00:12:25] stress in video games okay I brought up this article because um it was it's from the gaming subreddit and it's an article from games radar and it says Square Enix says more and more games either crash and burn or find big success
[00:12:39] as players thrown to a handful of major titles reading this article pissed me off because I was just like half of the triple A games that are being put out the past few years don't work they're buggy messes at launch like all this sort of stuff so yeah
[00:12:51] people throw them to the handful of games that actually I was I was playing Call of Duty yesterday or the day before and there's a map that I helped test that has been out since October of 22 and it still has
[00:13:07] like bugs that I saw when I was testing in it and I'm like I mean you haven't fixed some of these things and some of them are like like a wall will disappear and you can see into a building but the other side you can't see out
[00:13:19] so you're like oh there's a guy and you can walk around and shoot him you know I'm like I don't like that unbalanced gameplay one of the things that we look for too is like if you found a bug you have to write in there the severity
[00:13:33] of it like if it's something that a player can use to exploit or like cheat almost then it's a high severity and they're supposed to fix it quicker you know like I found giant boulders that you could had no collision so you can walk inside them
[00:13:47] and you could shoot out of them but you couldn't shoot into them and I was like you're basically in an invincible little turtle shell I was like it's a bug and then they fixed it right and then they fixed it you know
[00:13:57] like they fixed that stuff but I'm like if this lets you see through a wall and shoot people like you can shoot through some walls even if it isn't a wall you can shoot through you can still see them and then know where they're at I'm like that's
[00:14:11] you have a story to tell for a second that's the story to tell for a second? I mean I can he said I'm so full of energy and then you went nah never mind I'm just sleepy so I uh like we were talking about I was sick
[00:14:35] over the past weekend and so I went to the medics on Monday to get out so they they have a they have a sign on the door to the building that says stop in all red letters and I was like could you stop sign but sure
[00:14:59] and right underneath it it says if you have any of and instead of you have any two of these symptoms call the number and stay outside and I was like okay and it's all the symptoms of COVID because they don't want COVID people
[00:15:11] with COVID going into that building because it's a really small building you know and I was like make sense so we I stop and I'm like great so I call the number and they're like hey this is the medical Bob and Bob and I was like hey
[00:15:27] I have some of these symptoms on this thing so I'm waiting outside like the sign says and they're like oh really thanks and I was like the people not can I go inside like the other people can I say it like normally I'll stay outside
[00:15:39] or like comply with whatnot but it was like 40 degrees and I had a cough and I was not feeling well and I was like I just want to go and sit down somewhere at least a little warm or whatever nope not happening so so
[00:16:03] this is leading up somewhere so I go in while I stay outside they test me they're like you don't have COVID okay come on in we'll test you for other things I'm like so they test me for the flu they test me
[00:16:15] for a bunch of different stuff right well while I'm sitting there getting tested for all these things I look over and there's one of like little medical fridges right where they keep like the vaccines and stuff that need to be stakeholder and in there
[00:16:29] there's just the only thing in this fridge is two boxes there's one on the left and it says expired with an exclamation point I was like man why are we keeping this stuff I guess they have to dispose of it in a certain way
[00:16:45] right I was like okay cool at least they know it's expired right and then there was something that worried me I looked to the box on the right and it said expired but it had a question mark at the end instead of an exclamation point
[00:16:59] and I was like I feel like that's questionable how do you not know maybe it's like a sorting thing you know like they can sort things they're not sure about and then the ones that they know are sure
[00:17:09] right but why are you not sure if it's expired or not they all have dates you just look at the date if the date is yesterday it's expired well I don't know maybe with some medical stuff there's not like an exact excursion date make sure it's still okay
[00:17:23] I don't want to get tested with potentially expired things I don't know how it works but that would be concerning so in other news I don't know we haven't said it on here since we haven't recorded it since then I convinced Ripley to let me get another cat
[00:17:39] so we have a new cat her name is Sweetroll she is very small so if you hear the cats in the background it's because they're learning to play with each other yeah she sounds like a little siren half time that's true but we're very happy to have her
[00:17:55] not very happy to shove medication down a cat's throat I mean you picked her up you chose her you chose her and got to live with it now well you know what I just saw her and it was like my heart broke into like
[00:18:11] I was upset that that worker was handling her that way and I'm like this let her be we'll tell her if we need to like we walked in this worker that was there with us at the animal shelter she's like oh and then check out
[00:18:23] this little kitty and she like picked her up and she's like she just had surgery I'm like why are you handling her then what are you doing yeah I just it was like they really really wanted us to adopt which I understand but I was like
[00:18:35] I came here with the intention to please go away I want to meet the cat so the first time we went to that shelter we went to the same shelter both times there was nobody around the first time we were there
[00:18:45] there were no workers we didn't know if we were allowed to go like play with the cats or interact with them at all so we just did it and then no one said anything
[00:18:53] and we were like cool this was nice we got to go interact with the cats they were fun they were nice we found one that really liked us we were like they're awesome the second sign in this past weekend when we went there
[00:19:03] we went in and there was workers everywhere and I kind of show you this cat have you seen this cat have you seen that cat I'm like I know what the cats look like don't worry like at one point it was the two of us in this giant
[00:19:15] room that's filled with like different little little cages and rooms that the cats live in and there was like the two of us and four workers and I guess they didn't have work to do because all four of them were just watching us
[00:19:29] walk around to the different cages and I was like what are you like do you guys not have stuff to do like I don't have questions about it I know it's a cat everything about the cat is on the sheet of paper that's attached
[00:19:41] to every cage like it says its name its age it's like gender says if it's got like a history of whatever on there like it's medical history it's all on the paper I can read and then every time every time someone
[00:19:53] come over and be like oh yeah this is so and so and I'm like yep that's what the paper says too like oh she's in there really sweet this is that blah blah blah and I'm like yep same same stuff that's on the paper
[00:20:03] the only reason I dislike that is because like I get they're trying to get these animals a home and all that sort of stuff like they really want them to go home but it's like I don't like to be bothered when I'm shopping in general like out at
[00:20:15] places but especially when I'm trying to meet an animal that I want to like me like if you're around trying to like bother it how is the cat gonna know if it likes me or not yeah there's there's that too and they're like oh she's
[00:20:25] really sweet I play with her all the time for the past like two days and you're like why don't you adopt her then I'm like alright that's nice well what are you looking for and we're like we know what we're looking for
[00:20:35] if it's not on the sheet if the sheet says 16 year old cat I'm out like I don't need you to tell me that this one's 16 I read that yeah and it's like you know they always try to convince you to adopt a cat with special needs
[00:20:45] and it's like that's great like some people are really able to care for cats I have my own special needs I'm not trying to take care of a cat with special needs
[00:20:53] taking care of sweet rolls little colds you guys right now is about as much as I can handle like maybe in the future if something happens to them I'll take care I will definitely take care of them but you know I'm not in a place in life
[00:21:03] right now where I'm like I want to get the cat with cancer in one leg yeah that's why we went to that one shelter last year and they were like oh yeah all of these cats have was it the the other cats
[00:21:15] you know what I have learned more about it like it's really just that they have like weaker immune systems and a lot of times it won't spread to the other cats like if you are handling everything right it won't spread
[00:21:27] to other cats but if they're around your cat they're more likely to get sick so there they recommend they keep them only around other felvic cats and in an environment where you don't touch other cats so like your friends with cats couldn't come over to because then
[00:21:39] like they might our cats might get sick from you know like it's a whole thing and that's why I'm like it's too much work to think about plus the medications themselves I'm like some of them some of them require like injections
[00:21:51] and I'm like are you going to inject your cat like it's not my friend Jackie at work her cat has diabetes and so like she was going on her break like your long break sabbatical thing and her cat got diagnosed around the same
[00:22:05] time and she was like yeah it's been a lot learning to like how to take care of him and like all the different medications diabetes oh yeah and it's like he's doing well now but she said it was a really long process
[00:22:15] to figure out how to take care of him diabetes you need like the special injections of it too don't you yeah okay so I think it's funny to at the shelter like they're always like hovering and assuming you don't know anything
[00:22:29] and then I was telling Jordan I went to the vet for a sweet role she's definitely been a little abused very handshine and she's very skinny and definitely has like a cold or something so I went and take her to the vet get her checked out
[00:22:41] and when I was there I told Jordan that just kept talking to me like I was a cat expert like he'd be like oh this medical thing blah blah blah as you well know why would I know that I was wearing a cat skirt so maybe he thought
[00:22:53] you were a cat expert or something but I was just going to like a party right after I got home so but yeah he just was like as you know this is about cats and this is about cats like I didn't say anything but I was like
[00:23:07] actually I had no idea about that really they had ears huh cats meow interesting interesting he's so strange he's a good doctor though I like I think that's better because half the time you know some doctors will just treat you like nothing in your pieces
[00:23:23] I think that's a really nice though like more than human doctors yeah I mean I feel like it could go both ways like if your cat or your animal is a nice animal I'm sure but like if your animal is an asshole they might charge more
[00:23:44] because they're like you know what you shit all over my table yeah no they actually they had tried to burrito her and um she got so freaked out when the assistant was trying to help the doctor get all the rivals and everything I had
[00:23:58] to hold her on the table for him and then she started running out of patience and she even started scratching me a little bit so we just put her in the area and I was like okay that's enough for today
[00:24:06] he was like send me a picture of her gums if you can did you get a picture? no though I was only able to look at them on this thing but when I looked at them they look fine so because he said
[00:24:16] there's like he's like it looks like this he just want to make sure it wasn't like a certain illness that can cause like a gum problem but she's current she's happy she's already gaining some weight so I'm not worried her hips look a lot better yeah she's been
[00:24:30] she's been eating a lot which is good she needs to get up because when on her paperwork at the place it said she was like 7.8 pounds it said she was almost 8 pounds and then you took her to the vet and they weighed her
[00:24:44] and they were like oh yeah she weighs like 6 and we're like yeah she's dropped a lot of weight I will say it made me feel better because I said it's not she's not so small that we have to worry about it and since she's eating
[00:24:54] it's fine no it's a combination of she had surgery and then she was stressed about it and then they put her in a brand new room and then we took her immediately after that and put her here and I'm like she's the past
[00:25:06] week and a half has been not great yeah it's not surprising that she was lost weight but it made me happy because when we got her home she started eating like a million that's how you know she's the right fit and now she's just staring at birds outside
[00:25:22] what a great life she's gonna live yeah and she and Chipmunk are so cute together I just think it's so funny they'll sit there and be like back and forth with each other and I'm like I wonder what they're saying advice no no no no you wake
[00:25:38] them up at 3am 3 like you coming at 3 I'll go in at 5 double team yeah so now we have two cats yelling at us in the morning it's fun you are not used to having cats though like you I don't know how
[00:25:54] you lived with one for a whole year but still this morning you were like what does that sound they're doing something I gotta go check it out it was a loud sound I'm like yeah they're playing well I didn't know that it was cats running because
[00:26:04] they kept knocking over the other days oh what is it this time please don't play with something even if they knock something over what are you gonna do about it like oh no there's a wooden spoon on the ground
[00:26:12] I guess that's true I can pick it up in the morning I'm going back to sleep like I don't care I'm like a mom who hears her baby crying or something like what's going on she's like I hear him running what are they running from
[00:26:22] I'm like it's not the bogey man we're high on catnip I don't know in other news we're also hosting a dove convention yeah every day about the same time about 20 doves just show up on our balcony to eat some like feed that we have out there
[00:26:36] it's so funny because there's like 20 on the balcony and then there will be like 10 in the tree waiting their turn I'm like ugh and if I don't refill the feeder quick enough like the squirrels will come over here and put their face against the glass
[00:26:48] and stare inside the birds will fly into the door I'm like Jesus Christ you can't really I'm like what is that one uh huh I don't know that's so cool actually don't know it's like a brown bird with spots on its wings
[00:27:07] and then like a bright orangey red head I've been seeing some cool animals lately I told Jordan I saw a ring tail the other day I'd never seen one in my life I was like why is there like a naked raccoon on my porch right now
[00:27:21] I don't know what it is it looked like a lemur it looked like a raccoon with less fur just had a really bushy tail I found it because it was super pitch black outside and I saw the cat staring out there and it turned on the light
[00:27:33] a red-bellied woodpecker oh my gosh that's so cool it's probably the food type I got it says I don't know what the woodpecker is doing here um the food the food I got it's um from Amazon and it's got like
[00:27:47] a mixture of a bunch of things sort of tracks a lot more different types of birds you know one day you're young and fun and then the next day you're watching birds did you get like a large bag over there no it was like five pounds
[00:27:59] that's not large large is like they've already gone through half of it yeah that's what I'm saying large is like but I didn't want to get a big bag and then like birds not like it they're doves they would eat whatever you put out there
[00:28:13] listen they deserve good food we are saving our local natural population why I don't know about saving the bug population and stuff has gone down a lot I think it's good that we help our little friends I love birds the only population that I'm
[00:28:33] interested in saving is the possums what's wrong with the possums nothing I just really like the possums possums are great they do a lot of great things for the environment so we should have more possums around if you could bring back any like extinct species
[00:28:49] what would you pick extinct species that's a tough one you come back to me dodo birds why because they're just dumb little guys and I think they would bring a lot of joy to this world ah okay dumb little guys last melon would be good to bring back
[00:29:24] my second choice was a giant sloth but that's a really bad idea sloths are very vicious animals and the only reason that they're limited is because they aren't fast and they have to take like three days to poop they move real slow I don't know
[00:29:47] I feel like saber tooth tigers would be cool bring them back it would go well until they all get hunted what's up how big is the saber tooth tiger compared to a regular tiger not saver your size I also have to go back to the dentist
[00:30:19] my night guard came in and I was supposed to go yesterday morning to get it fitted and then I woke up sick and it was already 8 o'clock and they called me and I was like I'm really sorry I'm like sick I forgot
[00:30:31] I don't think I should come in because I don't want to get you guys sick that's super accurate I'm trying to find a size comparison between modern tigers and saber tooth tigers or you know what woolly mammoths that'd be fun the elephants deserve a friend
[00:30:50] but it's just because the amount of oxygen and carbon in our atmosphere has gotten less and thinner so we can't support large animals anymore modern tigers usually measure at a height of 95 centimeters and 260 kilograms do they measure height like their length or like from their shoulders
[00:31:10] to the ground the average size of saber tooth cats that they found from their shoulders to the ground is 120 centimeters estimated at 400 kilograms modern tigers are significantly shorter 25 centimeters shorter and 140 kilograms lighter look at the comparison can you imagine coming face to face with one of those bitches
[00:31:44] this size comparison hmmm the book is tall I bet they would have loved head scratches though probably my favorite thing about cats is they're all the same some of them are just big enough to murder you most of them are big enough to murder you
[00:31:58] what are you talking about chipmunk walks around like a tiger half the time she slinks and I'm like you look like you could beat me up oh my gosh look at the muscle structure of the different big cats lions versus tigers versus saber tooth
[00:32:14] look at those muscles that they had look at how many muscles they just had just kill things that is ridiculous I don't know if anybody's ever looked this up but they were ripped when I was in Africa we saw the lions there they're jacked it's crazy
[00:32:34] what a lion should be we were driving around in the typical safari looking vehicles we saw different things animals giraffes were super skittish you can't get within half a mile of the giraffes because they'll run away if I looked like that with legs like that
[00:32:52] we got charged by some of the elephants because the elephants are territorial and they were like the tigers the lions are hard to find why why here's why so the reserve that we were on all of the lions were killed so back I was like you can't really
[00:33:20] say that we were in Rwanda the reserve there killed off its lions and the lion population during the genocide that happened a whole story anyway so they didn't have lions well the country they've gotten lots better since then so the problem is they had so many animals
[00:33:48] on the reserve that they're like the population needs to sustain there's no predators there so they had to bring back lions so they put lions into the reserve the park, the nature preserve whatever it is they put more lions there but they can only put so many
[00:34:06] you can't introduce 50 lions you gotta introduce them so they put in like a dozen well the reserve is like hundreds of square miles and there's only 12 lions like there's 300 elephants you're gonna find an elephant there's all the gazelle antelope there's thousands of those
[00:34:30] you'll see them just walk around baboons, tons of them they were baboons walking in and out of the hotel they're all over the place oh yeah remember you said you had to stop for that one time family was crossing between us and the hotel
[00:34:44] don't walk just stand here and they held Ted across in front of us let the baboons go first yeah and you're like damn that's some blue ass it gets the whole thing so you're gonna see a bunch of animals
[00:35:00] monkeys and primates are so funny because they look pretty similar to us and they're just like naked and furry yeah that's great there's thousands of animals there but only 12 lions we'll take you to the last spot where we saw the lions but if the pride has moved
[00:35:18] we're not gonna spend days looking for them were there any baby lions there? no they brought in like 12 adults I think it was like 11 females or 10 females and 2 males I just didn't know if they had babies so they were talking about it and they're like yeah these lions
[00:35:38] they're from another preserve they caught them and brought them over here at least they're getting used to it but they were like yeah so the animals that live here they haven't had any natural predators for like 20 years so they're getting wrecked they're not afraid of anything
[00:35:58] you'll drive right up next to all these gazelle and these antelopes and they just sit there and they stare at you and you can reach out and touch them they need to learn to be afraid they don't care all the antelope just stood up
[00:36:10] and was like not a great play they all ran like crazy didn't see anything they all just ran for some reason we sat there for probably 20-30 minutes nothing the lions are watching you so then we went up to this they drove us up to this hilltop
[00:36:28] and there's this little gazebo so they parked the 2 the vehicles next to the gazebo like alright everybody out we're having lunch you can see all around we're sitting there eating for like 5-10 minutes and they said everybody stop what you're doing get back in the vehicles
[00:36:50] drop all your shit get in the vehicles now we're like okay so we all got in the vehicles right and someone we all got in there were like what happened why didn't we pack up or clean up and he goes just be quiet and we were like okay
[00:37:06] nobody makes sudden movements but everybody looked like 2 o'clock about 50 meters and we look over and there's just this jacked lioness walking out of the woods and we were like nobody move she's huge you can see her muscles everything she walked by sniffed all the food walked away
[00:37:26] walked off into the distance laid down for a little bit everyone was just sitting there and they're like you can take pictures and we were like okay that sounds so cool I love lions she was pretty and they were like yeah we don't know which one that is
[00:37:46] they all look pretty similar and we're like they're all jacked she was huge I deem her not I feel bad though for one of the guys I was there with cause she finally walked off far enough that they were like okay let's go out and clean up
[00:38:00] we don't have time to stay here anymore we're like yeah that's fair we saw a lot of them I feel bad for one of the people we were there with cause she was in the bathroom and they don't want the animals going in there so they had to
[00:38:16] one of the guides went in and locked the bathroom from the inside so they had to stay in there because the lion was too close like it was in between them and the cars and they were like she didn't get to see the lion we were like
[00:38:34] that would be my look maybe you shouldn't have had to pee that's on you when we started mindless prattle we were immediately overwhelmed with all of the different tasks that come with starting a podcast the audio, video website hosting, editing services it's enough to make anybody dizzy

[00:39:54] so head to the link and give it a shot head on over to mindlessprattle.com slash Alatu to create the podcast of your dreams that's mindlessprattle.com slash A-L-I-T-U and then you know I think elephants are so cool like did you ever hear that story about
[00:40:10] this lady I don't remember how but she like caused this elephant baby to die and then the elephant trampled her to death for it and then she had the funeral for the woman and the elephant found the funeral and trampled her coffin again
[00:40:26] I was like god damn elephants are so smart they hold grudges she was like teach you to come around my house bitch I've seen the opposite too where like a baby will be stuck in like some like thick mud or like tar
[00:40:38] and the elephant like the adult can't get in there so they'll throw like blankets and stuff down and like wrap it around the elephant pull the baby out and the mom will come over and like wrap her and like spray her with water and then she'll go over
[00:40:50] and like start patting all the humans on the head like with their trunk like thank you I've seen stories where they say like elephants will seek out people to help them in situations like that like they know the humans
[00:41:00] can help them so they'll go get them to be like come but look at this thing it's stuck I just think animals are so beautiful yeah same thing with orcas orcas do that orcas are mean I would not want to be in the water around an orca
[00:41:14] nah they don't attack humans they attack their ships but they've never like they're really attacking humans it's pretty funny I know we're gonna retaliate I don't know some notica 2 is coming yeah I don't know much about it I just saw that they've announced it
[00:41:37] but okay the problem is it's gonna be a multiplayer sequel love that I want to play some notica with you so bad without like the mods that don't work but it's using the game as a service model and it's basically like K2P yeah so there so
[00:41:53] is unity I don't know but one of the companies that makes one of the game engines that's used in a lot of like higher higher tier video games more quality video games they basically announced earlier early it was like halfway through 2023
[00:42:13] somewhere in there that they were looking at charging per hour video game played of like hey you're using our engine for this amount of time we're gonna charge you so much for every hour or charge the developers for that and so a lot of developers they were already
[00:42:31] halfway three quarters way through making their game with that engine we're like shit now it might not be worth it to finish it so a lot of games got cancelled and they were like nope we're not making it off your service anymore what a dumb funny decision
[00:42:43] some of them were like no we're not making our service some of them continued some of them were like I guess we're redoing this entire game on a different engine because that's not okay and like a lot of people are mad about it
[00:42:53] so I guess if this is saying that subnautica 2 is like a test for that service I don't see it going well it wasn't anything like crazy high it wasn't like oh you get charged like ten dollars an hour it was like they wanted to charge like a dollar
[00:43:07] or two an hour but I'm still I'm still like I paid for the game I should be able to play it for however long that I want on the developer side too like they paid for the rights to use that software
[00:43:19] they did all the work to create that game well no that's what they were saying too is it would cost developers more money than it would like players because players you'd play it for say you played it for an average game like 15 hours
[00:43:31] it was 15 bucks for you right but every day if you're working on that game that's eight hours a day every day for a year you don't have to pay for that software like that's crazy and I feel like the developers would be like
[00:43:45] what are we doing this for you know I feel like eventually developers would just pass that cost to the consumers like people already think games are starting to cost too much their average of like 60 to 80 bucks now game developers want to push that even higher
[00:43:55] I would give them a great excuse and any developers I'm just begging you please somebody make a new engine or something like yeah so that's I think that's what this is saying but I don't see it going well I don't have to pay per like
[00:44:11] hour of played video games like one of the great benefits of video games is like yeah it's 60 bucks but if you played it for even if you played it for 30 hours that's $2 an hour what other form of entertainment can you pay $2 an hour for
[00:44:25] and still be engaged at 30 bucks I don't know I have no comments I'm a Sims player that's what I'm saying like my at one point I was arguing with somebody and they were like I don't know why you'd pay for games
[00:44:35] I don't see a movie or go out and hang out with friends and I'm like cool but say you're night out at the bar say you spend $100 you spend $100 for one night I spent 60 on a game that I'm going to be playing from now until 10 months from now
[00:44:49] I also just think it's stupid when people say things like that because it's like okay it's not your hobby that's fine no, yeah it's what I'm saying but don't insult my video games like the video games not worth $60 and I'm like your drinks not worth 15
[00:45:03] video games can actually be really good for you especially like it's like great for motor development it's great for dexterity it's great for problem solving and learning how to do things in different ways you don't know what games are maybe I buy puzzle games
[00:45:15] that help strengthen my puzzle solving abilities you do have great puzzle solving abilities I don't I play God Daddy you play so much more than God I'm not like puzzle games but also I feel like you know
[00:45:27] my family was kind of absent when I was in high school and I feel like a lot of my time was spent playing video games I learned a lot of lessons and like developed a lot of my personality playing things like Skyrim and Fallout and Sims
[00:45:39] that's why you were always shouting at me from Skyrim I want to play Skyrim and VR so bad that'd be fun I think that'd be a lot of fun I just get motions sick really easy
[00:45:51] especially if I'm not playing every day and I figure I can't play for a while since I don't want to freak out the cat because she's new and I don't want to have to introduce her to a different layout it takes three weeks for them to feel
[00:46:03] settled and comfortable it takes three months for them to be like absolutely okay and then it takes six months until they're like yours is that how that works chipmunk was really easy she came up to us within a couple out they told us when we got chipmunk
[00:46:19] that is this your first cat we're like yeah and they're like okay just let her out in a room in your bedroom, let her wander around don't follow her around she'll come up to you when she's ready it'll probably take a day or two sounds good
[00:46:33] we had the TV in the bedroom we were eating pizza in bed we let her out, grabbed a pizza sat down and after my first bite she was standing on the bed trying to eat the pizza
[00:46:43] out of my hands and I'm like girl this is my alone time you're supposed to be exploring and not like me yet and she was just sitting there wanting pet and I was like alright pat and we were playing with her immediately she was just immediately like
[00:46:57] no you're gonna pet me now I was like do you want pizza because I don't, I want pizza cats love pizza apparently yeah I guess what are we doing tonight chicken soup or something now you said you make chicken soup
[00:47:15] just chicken soup, it's gonna be chicken, chicken broth chicken noodle soup chicken soup done we do need to go get some stuff for it you need to go I have to work hi, we were talking about you hopper I feel like I had something else to say
[00:47:35] and I can't remember what what would you say how much money do you think only fans makes every year maybe a billion or so a billion or so so you're so 2022 their revenue was 2.3 billion and so I was looking at it and I was reading some stuff
[00:48:02] and saw a YouTube video on it and they were talking about it they were like it's just crazy that if you just gather enough titties and feet you could just have enough money to buy Guatemala just buy a small country if you want, you have so much money
[00:48:20] how much of that is liquid asset though that's not my point but it's still like 2 billion dollars people paid 2 billion dollars in 2022 I know they're top performers or whatever earned millions of dollars they're top 0.01% but that's only 50% or whatever the cut is that only fans take 70% double it
[00:48:53] that's the best version what else have you done this week man I don't know my brain has just fried my memory has been even worse lately than it ever has before like Caitlin should be like yeah you've told me that story 8 times I didn't want to say anything
[00:49:16] and I was like oh my god you tell me the same things over and over I'm my grandmother every time you're like isn't that amazing and I'm like yes it was 2 days ago maybe I have like early on maybe it's just the anxiety and depression I don't know
[00:49:38] except for stupid the story stays up there you don't remember telling it to who you've told it to I think it's here's what it is here's my theory growing up I don't think you had a lot of people to tell those types of things too
[00:49:52] so you're not used to keeping track of who you told stories to and who you didn't so now you got a bunch of friends and me and what not I need to tell everyone this funny story that happened so you just started telling people
[00:50:06] but you've never been used to it so you don't keep track of who you've told it to and then you just tell me again I just get really excited I had to keep track and the only reason why I didn't have a lot of friends but
[00:50:20] I had like 2 households so I had to keep track of which story I told to which parent and be like hey this happened, hey this happened they're like yeah you already told me that I had to learn to do that growing up because I had 2 different households
[00:50:34] I had to learn which story I told to which parent that's how I learned how to do it but that's my theory what do you think about it he said yeah I wasn't ready for therapy this morning I was alone a lot as a kid
[00:50:50] me and my sister were usually together but even though we were at 2 households whether we were at my mom's or my dad's they just kind of ignored us I love going to my stepmoms because me, my sister and my 2 stepbrothers we'd sit on the floor
[00:51:04] playing PS2 on the little box TV no stand, no nothing just everything on the ground the only furniture in the room was a dresser and a bunk bed and she would lock us in the room all night with some tutored leaders of sodas some little Caesars pizza
[00:51:20] and then we would just play video games all night long I want to go back to the little Caesars hey did you see you're a tiktoker did you see this thing on tiktok about little Caesars and their waist so I don't know
[00:51:38] so I saw a YouTube video because I'm not a tiktoker and this guy was like trying the tiktok the little Caesars tiktok hack and I was like sure so he walks in and he's like hey I want one of the hot and ready
[00:51:54] pizzas right and they're like yeah sure and he goes also can I get like the waist and she's like yeah sure and she gives him like two extra pizzas and some breadsticks and this and that and so I was reading it and it was like basically
[00:52:06] basically it's like when you go to like Taco Bell and they're like oh we made the wrong taco or you're like hey you messed up my order you made the wrong taco and they're like oh we can't take it back same thing but like if little Caesars
[00:52:16] like makes an extra order of breadsticks that they can't use or like they fuck up a pizza that they can't sell you can just be like hey can I get the waist and they're like sure you just give me like two books
[00:52:26] for it you know I'm still mad at KFC like maybe I'll maybe I'll try that I'll have to look up more about it but I didn't know if you'd seen anything about it on the on the talkers I've mostly seen book talk drama um
[00:52:40] no I'm still mad at KFC so I told Jordan I got doordash the other day my doordash or he was great loved him super friendly fast I got two things I got a bowl I asked for no corn I got
[00:52:54] a side of mac and cheese because I really wanted mac and cheese I was having a really shitty day at work and I was like mac and cheese gonna fix it right so I get my order I go to sit down on my little lunchy I'm like
[00:53:04] yay you know there's corn in my bowl and no mac and cheese no mac and cheese and I tried so hard to eat the whole thing because I paid for it and I ended up like moving around most of the corn and I couldn't eat all the potatoes
[00:53:22] because I don't the thing is I don't like the texture of the corn with mashed potatoes and gravy like really grosses me out so that's why I don't get the corn in there I like corn just not with that
[00:53:30] I completed doordash and they were like oh we're sorry here's a four dollar credit did this fix the problem and I said no I just wanted my mac and cheese yeah that's what the video was about and people when I was doordashing people would blame me for things
[00:53:45] like oh you didn't put this in the bag and I'm like ma'am sir thing we're living in covid times every bag that I pick up from every restaurant is sealed I have zero opportunities to check if your order is correct
[00:53:59] I get a bag that's taped shut with your name on it and then I bring it to you I have no responsibility to check inside the bag unless it's like a bag and a drink and I don't pick up the drink then you can blame me
[00:54:11] but that was like it never happened because every time I'd be like yeah it says I also got a drink because it shows you what you should be picking up he was great 10 out of 10 when I ordered from Chipotle I've had no issues
[00:54:21] I even learned how to open a bottle without a bottle opener scissors I've gotten pretty good at it why didn't you use the bottle opener? because I don't know I get it so for some reason on DoorDash for Chipotle you can't order like a fountain soda
[00:54:39] just their bottles even though on the Chipotle app you can order a fountain soda so I didn't know that I was getting a bottle and then I looked up all these tricks and I found a thing that was like
[00:54:49] put this the blade of the scissors up against the edge of the bottle make sure it's like stable and stuff and then just like squeeze and pop upward so the first time it took me like 5 minutes like I really struggled the second time
[00:54:59] 30 seconds I got so good at it you know most of their bottles are twist they were it wasn't okay it's like the Mexican Coke okay alright that makes sense I also want to try from Chipotle or at least look into it Chipotle catering
[00:55:15] so like catering you can order food for like 25 people right? yeah we've gotten Chipotle catering and it's cheaper than going to Chipotle like individually 25 times and somebody was like yeah I just order Chipotle catering and then I give you it all up in bowls
[00:55:31] and freeze it off because it's cheaper than the grocery store it's cheaper than going to Chipotle individual times and then I have Chipotle for like the whole month damn that's a good idea I was like I need to look and see how much this costs
[00:55:43] and if it's actually cheaper than groceries because it might be right now I don't know cause I hate meal prepping right but if it's already all you're just like yeah let me get 6 bowls and 4 burritos and like 8 of the you know 8
[00:55:55] cases of the is you'd be like cool look at that it's like they give you like a giant thing of rice yeah yeah you know what I mean but we already have containers you can just split it up pretty easy
[00:56:03] it's already all cooked and then freeze whatever you use I actually love to do that so yeah I was like we need to look in and see if it's actually cheaper I would assume with like uh like grocery prices right now I would assume it is
[00:56:17] cause that'd be great you know just be like oh I don't feel like cooking but like you know what tonight we'll buy out some chicken and rice and whatnot just have that it'd be great I'm like I'm gonna look up the pricing
[00:56:29] are you looking at that right now cause we like I said we get it for work meetings all the time can you order it in their app or do you have to go through them? you can get burritos by the box
[00:56:41] burritos by the box how many what is it minimum 6 people it just says it's 875 per person order order orders maybe create or sign in I don't want an account I just want like so it just depends on how many people so like
[00:56:57] group sign in to account to start a group order I think for like 10 people it'd be about 150 bucks I don't know I'll have to look into it but I think it'd be worth looking at oh um we didn't have a thingy since last time
[00:57:13] so Crescent City 3 came out I still don't know how I feel about it I think there were too many plot points to put in one book she's trying to combine a bunch of stuff awesome great love it but take your time to do it and then expand on
[00:57:29] that in another book I will say I think it's some of her best writing that I've seen like she's gotten really good at the imagery and like explaining things and all that but it's just she put too much in there it was like I had
[00:57:41] no recovery time it was just like boom boom boom boom back to back shit happening um and then the main character was kind of an asshole in this one like to her mate oh yeah you were telling me about that like he's been tortured for a while
[00:57:53] and she's just like alright well get over it yeah she's like we've got shit to do and it's like you can't even have one conversation to be like hey I know we've got a lot going on but are you okay like can you do this
[00:58:03] um like I just I really didn't like the characterization in this but um some of the side characters are amazing it was just too much for one book and like me and my friends were talking about it and it really just feels lazy you know
[00:58:15] like she is the top most paid author in the world right now she makes so much fucking money oh your future I love it and this is our future I love it and this is the level of
[00:58:27] work she put out not to mention we found a ton of typos which from an Andy author wouldn't bother me but from Sarah J Maas I paid like 30 fucking dollars for this book and it's got typos in it you know it's got typos
[00:58:39] like she has like a professional editing team of like 15 people I know like also like a lot of that too is funny to me because like you could just hit spell check like put it in word just even if you're editing it in some other
[00:58:51] software or your unit whatever you could just copy and paste it into word real quick and be like hey run spell check like that's it yeah that's all you really had to do and I actually the document is pretty big but like the one
[00:59:01] that bothered me the most was I told you about it but um I was reading and then it ended with a quotation mark but it didn't start with a quotation mark and it wasn't like the first sentence on the page so it wouldn't
[00:59:13] have no idea where the dialogue I had to reread it like four times I was like wait somebody speaking I thought this was just like like you know pros or whatever um it really confused the hell out of me and then a lot of just dropped letters
[00:59:25] like where a letter would just be missing from middle word like this is really fucking me up right now I don't like it I had to do that with a couple of the um paragraphs in your book yeah but it's a wrap draft no no not like that
[00:59:39] it's just because I'm dumb and I was like did I miss something and I read back I'm like I did miss something it's right there it's like like is it difficult to understand like do I use too many big words no there's like
[00:59:53] there's a couple in there that I'm like I know what the words meaning context but like one of the words I was like I had to look it up because I'm like I've never even heard this fucking word the uh
[01:00:06] it was like when Juan I don't have to say it Juan? Juan face I was like the fuck does that mean I was like wanting what what are we doing here I gotta look it up I'm like I mean it makes sense but I was like
[01:00:16] yeah yeah I can teach you a new thing so sometimes you use words like you show me words I'm like I've never heard of this word in my fucking life like a fulgent fulgent what fulgent is a great word what are you talking about I agree it just
[01:00:30] I didn't give me much prize I saw the word Juan and I was like I don't know what that means so like usually when I was going through when I was reading it I'll highlight things and like make notes and comments and stuff right
[01:00:42] and so there was one part where I was reading and it was like uh yes and it's this place and I was like was that a country was that a town did I miss it so I highlighted it
[01:00:52] there are so many times where I highlighted it and I'm like is this a country question mark and I'll hit enter and I'm like cool posted it and then I read the next three sentences and they're like and this country is this and I'm like well
[01:01:02] it's kind of like you're watching One Piece with me and you're like just wait they're gonna tell you yeah but I'm like I'm like nah so I'm like I'm like I'm gonna go back and delete the fucking comment and there's actually some One Piece in my
[01:01:16] book that's where I got the name Nisaba from it's a city in One Piece I thought it was a nice name so we were watching it one day and I just wrote it down that's what I do to get names for things I don't know it's from like
[01:01:30] six or seven hundred episode area it was it was like a city they mentioned briefly like I don't think they went there they just said it but I do that like if I pass street names that I think are cool or like I just see a name
[01:01:42] and somewhere I'm like oh I'm gonna put that in my notes yeah I had something to say and I don't remember when so when's the book coming out I'm trying to get it out this month but I don't think it's gonna happen
[01:01:56] I had to get the crinkle too I keep not meeting my own deadlines I just don't know how it should end because I was thinking about it the other day and I came up with this plot twist that I was like
[01:02:10] oh shit I would have to rework a lot of stuff or add some details in to like you know drop hints and things but I was like ooh there's like this big secret and nobody's telling the main character and she doesn't even know
[01:02:26] but there's a big secret and I think it'll change the ending so I'm I'm working on it but I just don't want to do it and I don't know if I'm putting too much stuff in it or if I'm like the fight scenes go long enough
[01:02:38] or not you know like I'm not sure how to build tension like that did you uh who's making it I think it's Amazon that's making it but everyone's making the Halo TV series and I hate it
[01:02:54] I haven't seen it but I just heard you say it's not great the first season I've literally I've only watched clips of it and every clip is not great I'm like I'm not watching it at all and then all the reviews like 99% of the reviews were just like
[01:03:08] yeah this isn't in canon with anything in the books and it doesn't make any sense why they would do it this way and then they just announced season 2 right and I saw a review of the trailer and he's like
[01:03:22] you know how the trailer for season 1 looked good and we were all excited and we had to watch the full episodes to find out that season 1 was trash well they didn't do that with season 2 they just gave you a preview of how shitty season 2 was going to be
[01:03:32] so you don't even have to watch it and one of the clips is the actor who plays master chief and he's like talking shit to Cortana and everyone was just like why the fuck would he ever say that people love Cortana they were like it's never
[01:03:48] ever have they had that sort of conversation and everyone was like why is this here that doesn't make any sense it's literally him standing in a field and he just goes he's like hey she's like hey what's going on and he goes stop talking I'm trying to think
[01:04:06] why would you start this conversation it doesn't make any sense and then she's like we're towards back to him that's not witty banter back and forth that's them literally just being like fuck you no fuck you okay why like I saw that clip
[01:04:22] and I'm like well now I'm definitely not watching season 1 or season 2 if that was really going to go they could have had Cortana something like that you know like twist it on him but also people were also talking about it and they're like
[01:04:34] also do the writers not know that Cortana's not like in his head she's in a microchip well no she's in a microchip and he puts it in the helmet and like it so like she's in the suit right but in that scene he has the helmet off
[01:04:50] and he's still talking to her and they're like but how is he talking to her if he doesn't have the fucking helmet on like he can't hear what she's saying there's no speakers on this fucking suit I don't know how many times
[01:05:02] studios are going to learn this lesson when it comes to things that are coming from video game or book material you have to be faithful to it the last of us did a really great job they changed a few things
[01:05:12] but the changes they made were generally well received yeah and the other thing too that I don't understand is if I was doing that show first of all don't take the helmet off except for like very rare occasions yeah it should be like the Mandalorian
[01:05:26] well it's canon that he doesn't take it off hardly fucking ever right and but the other part of it too is if you didn't take the helmet off ever you could just have Steve Downs voice him on the show he's the actual voice of Master Chief he's alive
[01:05:42] yeah you can do like a Star Wars thing I'm like you just have the guy who's tall enough walk around in the suit and then have the voice they're like the voice actually voice him like what are you doing okay so
[01:05:54] you just remind me so dumb and I think it's because I think the only reason they don't is because Steve is like contracted to Microsoft and Amazon owns the rights to the TV show right now so like they can't use him and I'm like
[01:06:08] that's I'm like that's so stupid I'm like I hate everything that Amazon's doing I did you see Disney is losing like tons of money right now because people so many people are canceling Disney plus no why are they canceling they announced a prize egg that's why I
[01:06:24] canceled it I was like I'm not willing to pay more I'll keep my hulu yeah well even hulu and Amazon announced that they were gonna raise the price of their ad free plans oh shit they didn't tell me everything going on I'm like why
[01:06:38] what is what's going on I was like I barely ever used Disney plus I'm going into cancelling Kendall Unlimited once I finish the current series I'm reading and then I'm planning to get a month of Netflix once Bridgerton and all my favorite shows are
[01:06:52] out yeah just to watch everything I can not wait to see the season of Bridgerton I know I know it's not your favorite show I love it I love it so much that's the like the just British drama bullshit yeah it's like the
[01:07:04] we all have to go and court people now and you're like haha like I remember watching the first season the first season came out during COVID and I had to quarantine I was at home and I just watched the whole thing on my period um
[01:07:16] it was so good I was like I remember there was this one scene where these main characters literally just like barely touch hands in this like art room and it's like the most sensual thing like they they the way they shot
[01:07:26] the whole show and like the way they built up attention they did a great job because it's literally just people holding hands but they have the emotional breath and stuff that they added see that you mean like food wars sure you ever seen that no you ever see
[01:07:42] sorry go ahead season two season two was really good too I um I love season two because it was like the jerk older brother who's always like I just need a wife to cook and he and have kids and I don't care about love love leads
[01:07:56] to danger and then he's supposed to marry this one girl but he falls in love with her older sister and the older sister is like a hot head like aggressive old woman and they fall in love but they're both like stubborn assholes so that the whole thing
[01:08:08] is just the muddy heads and it's so funny um Queen Charlotte was really good it's like a spin-off show Queen Charlotte is actually better than Bridgeton and my Ben you know so I'm not that the other day but season three is coming out and it's Penelope story
[01:08:20] and I'm so excited for her because she's like uh she's like a plus size woman you know like she's a little bigger oh yeah I think yeah she's a beautiful woman but like they don't usually give like primary love interest
[01:08:32] to like plus size women was she the one that was writing like the notes yeah she's the lady yeah so um but I keep seeing like sneak peeks from the new season I'm so excited and then of course I want to see one piece
[01:08:44] there's something else too that we wanted to watch for camera I don't know something live action probably oh the avatar is on there avatar yeah I'm not like super excited for that but I love it my excitement it's going down just because
[01:08:58] they're like oh we changed it so they they changed one of the character arcs and you're like that was his whole character arc like what yeah we changed everything about the show that made it meaningful yeah it was uh like Saka if you were seeing the animated series
[01:09:14] in the first like four episodes he's very misogynistic and then like literally like episode like four or five he like gets beaten up by some like the female warriors on this island and then he's like at literally at the end of
[01:09:30] that episode he's like I'm sorry I judged you incorrectly like I like this and that and then for the entire rest of the series he treats women perfectly fine yeah I think and that's a big part of the series
[01:09:40] because they all like you know they're all like really young and they have something they need to work on and they grow as they're doing this series but that was like it's not like he was misogynistic for half
[01:09:48] of the series and then the other half he was fine it was literally like the first three or four episodes and then he changed right and like and then he changed like immediately so you're like and they're like oh we're not going to
[01:09:58] show that in this because he was too misogynistic and we were like yes that was his character arc like he gets much better like three episodes in like what are you talking about you're trying to like make everything you see these days
[01:10:10] but that's like people don't want that people want to see people overcome the issues and obstacles they have if he stays misogynistic and it's just for like views and laughs yeah that sucks but if he starts out that way and he falls like if they're worried
[01:10:22] about it not coming off well in live action literally just stick to the script that was in the animated series because then you can't be accused of like making up more misogynistic like stuff you could just be like nope that's what he actually said
[01:10:34] in the series or you know don't offend yourself like no this is to show this for a specific reason the showrunner was like no we don't want to be too misogynistic or come off too misogynistic so we changed it and the actor was like
[01:10:48] I agree I was saying some mean stuff I'm like to like three people like the show literally starts with him being misogynistic and that's how they find the avatar that's the whole plot what are they going to do get into a fight about fishing
[01:11:02] like what the fuck is the point I don't see I'm like that's that's that's stupid literally the show starts out with two of them fishing and she's practicing water bending she catches a fish with water bending and he gets wet from the water
[01:11:16] and he's just like leave it to a girl to screw things up I knew I should have left you at home to do like laundry right like that's what he says and you're like damn son like what are you saying that for
[01:11:26] and then they get into an argument and she breaks a bunch of ice and they find the avatar like granted not a great thing to say episode two about the same way like there's nothing crazy in it and then like episode three
[01:11:40] they're like oh yeah we're on this island he gets beat up by a bunch of women they he goes and trains with them and then he apologizes to them and then they like kiss and follow and then in the whole rest of the series perfectly fine
[01:11:56] treats every woman he runs into with respect I think there are a few more episodes in between there because that happened after like season one finale because his because ua and stuff all that stuff happened before he went to the island
[01:12:10] no it didn't he met suki before he met ua met suki on that island on kiyoshi island yeah like how does he end up with suki later then because they basically like said hey we she was like they visit the island
[01:12:26] they visit the island she beats him up right captures them all right they go through this whole like back and forth like hey you're a misogynist to the asshole and then he realizes he's wrong blah blah right and then he's like why don't you come with us
[01:12:38] and she's like no we have to stay and defend the island they kiss and then they leave they go through all this to make their way to the north pole they get to the north pole do all that stuff and then later in the
[01:12:48] series as they're exploring other nations they run into suki again and he's like what are you doing here and she's like you inspired us to leave the island and we're like we have to go back to war like that's how that work that's the storyline
[01:13:00] and they fight each other again after ua like it's i still my favorite line is still that's rough buddy zuko is my favorite i think my favorite character and then what's her name tylie myly i don't remember i need to rewatch it
[01:13:20] yeah so look the boy in the ice here's the episode listings right episode one two and three or one and two is like the one thing at the south pole episode three they go to the air temple and they meet momo right episode four
[01:13:34] the onki oshi and that's the end of the arc okay that's it that episode four four episodes that they they did that and then the water tribe is episode 19 where they meet anyway like that's what i'm saying there's only four episodes where he's misogynistic
[01:13:50] that's it i need to i don't know how they're gonna do that because that's also a big part of kutara's story is you know she's not allowed to have been because she's a girl or whatever
[01:13:58] but it's all she wants to do what are they gonna do when they get to the north pole and be like we accept you because you're strong like that's not how that works in this series like they don't
[01:14:06] they tell her they tell her to tell her to leave because she's a woman and go learn how to heal people like that's what they tell like that water tribe not fucking around with the gender roles here yeah so i guess we'll see when it comes out
[01:14:18] but you know he makes yeah i'm not super excited for that one anymore i am excited that the cabbages guy is back that's fun yes love cabbage guy hope my cabin i think that's all the stories i got in me running out of meat that's what you said
[01:14:34] stories yeah and meet you're running out of stories and meet i heard you what is that is that the key what do we i don't you got to do the offshore Jordan no i don't have to Ripley we're just gonna end it like this in silence
[01:14:48] you can't see it but we're staring at you hoist i think i left that in one of the other episodes right it's just it's both of us saying goodbye and then there's like two seconds of silence then it's just me going hoist
[01:15:04] and then it cuts to the music and i was like alright i forgot about that tradition like why is it silent i gotta go get ready for work yeah i got some work to do too but it's been fun i don't know if we have
[01:15:20] enough for two episodes so this will be one long episode and it'll be alright we hope you have fun you know we did this is come out the 12th when this comes out well if you liked what you heard or you didn't hear
[01:15:38] what you liked that's fine too we are still gonna be doing this next week as long as Ripley doesn't get me sick again shut up wow you got me sick yeah that's cool audience like that and i'm sorry were you not
[01:15:54] sick a few weeks ago i wasn't exactly and now i'm sick so okay thanks for hanging out with us guys yeah we'll catch you next time okay have a moist goodbye goodbye you
